Driver Contractor Agreement

1. Independent Contractor Status
By using the NexMove platform to offer moving services, you acknowledge that you are an independent contractor and NOT an employee of NexMove. You are responsible for your own taxes, National Insurance contributions, and business expenses. NexMove does not provide employment benefits.
2. Eligibility Requirements
To drive with NexMove, you must:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Hold a valid UK driving license
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Own or have access to a suitable vehicle
- Have valid goods-in-transit insurance
- Pass our identity verification (KYC) process via Sumsub
- Have no relevant criminal convictions
3. Service Standards
You agree to:
- Arrive at pickup locations on time
- Handle customer items with care
- Maintain a professional demeanor at all times
- Keep your vehicle clean and roadworthy
- Wear appropriate clothing (no offensive material)
- Communicate promptly with customers about delays
- Take photos at pickup and delivery as required
4. Commission and Payments
NexMove retains a 20% commission on all completed jobs. You receive 80% of the booking value. Payments are processed weekly every Monday and transferred to your registered bank account.
You are responsible for any applicable taxes on your earnings. NexMove does not withhold taxes on your behalf.
5. Extras and Additional Charges
Any additional charges beyond the quoted price (e.g., parking fees, congestion charges, waiting time) must be requested through the app. Customers must approve these charges in-app before you can collect them. Unauthorized charges may result in account suspension.
6. Cancellation Penalties
If you cancel an accepted job:
- First cancellation: Warning and trust score reduction
- Second cancellation (within 30 days): 24-hour suspension
- Third cancellation (within 30 days): 7-day suspension
- Repeated cancellations: Permanent account termination
7. Insurance Requirements
You must maintain valid goods-in-transit insurance with minimum coverage of £10,000. You must provide proof of insurance upon request. If your insurance lapses, your account will be suspended until valid proof is provided.
8. Location Tracking
When you are online or on an active job, your location is shared with customers and NexMove. This is essential for our service and improves customer experience. Location tracking stops when you go offline and complete all active jobs.
9. Account Suspension and Termination
NexMove may suspend or terminate your account for:
- Violation of these terms
- Poor customer ratings (below 4.0 average)
- Trust score below 50%
- Insurance lapse
- Fraudulent activity
- Criminal conviction
10. Dispute Resolution
Disputes regarding payments or bookings should be raised within 7 days. Contact driver-support@nexmove.co.uk with your booking reference and details.
11. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
